Photo: Kashgar Old Town still life, by Carsten ten Brink

A tilted, two-wheeled wooden cart rests in an arched alcove leading to the doorway of a building in Kashgar Old Town, Xinjiang. The monochrome building of peach-colored brick features many of the familiar geometric patterns found in Islamic architecture.
